She is a tenured associate professor and registered psychologist with over 30 years of experience in the helping profession. Renowned for her expertise in counseling ethics, Dr. McBride emphasizes relational consent and documentation practices aimed at decolonizing the field and amplifying client voices. With a strong background in treating family violence, she provides trauma-informed care for complex issues, assists therapists and agencies facing ethical complaints, and facilitates personal growth for therapists. Her clinical approach incorporates expressive arts, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Transactional Analysis.
